International Airport Project (High-Security & Traffic)
An international airport is a microcity, open 24/7 and always humming along in an orderly chaos of passengers, employees and luggage. Key issues are coping with huge numbers of pedestrians while locking down a tight security net and keeping things moving. As for such a sizable international hub in Asia, the door solution that Suzhou Oredy needed to supply should hold up under those tough circumstances.
The effort needed to have many layers. At the primary terminal entryways, we put in a number of high-speed sliding doors. These speed doors are designed for fast open-and-close operations - they can process people thousands per hour and keep the loss of energy and external noise to a minimum. In the business of luxury hospitality, guest experience is paramount. The change from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, into a peaceful climate controlled environment in a five star hotel lobby must be seamless and stunning. As part of a prestigious five star hotel chain, Suzhou Oredy challenged was to improve this arrival feeling yet due to the scale of the building its contribution towards the buildings overall energy plan had to be substantial.
The answer lay in grand, elegant automatic revolving doors. The doors act as the focus of attention of the hotel's exterior, an imposing and seductive welcome. But they're not just for looks: these revolving entrances serve as an extremely efficient airlock, so only a small amount of ambient -- be it warm and muggy or cold and frigid -- can make its way into the main lobby. This sustained seal results in lower demand on the hotel’s heating and air conditioning system, which amounts to significant energy saving, not to mention a smaller carbon footprint.
In addition to the principal revolving doors, we included automatic sliding doors for all other entrances and access points, including the hotel’s luxury spa and pool space. Large Medical Center Project (Hygiene & Accessibility)
Hospitals and health centers has some of the strictest needs for doors. The priorities are rigorous hygiene above all, universal access and the ability to move patients, personnel and equipment quickly and unimpeded. For a large regional hospital, Suzhou Oredy designed and installed such an access solution for those life-saving cases it couldn't be more important.
Touch free operation is also essential in operating theatres, sterile supply rooms and isolation wards. We put in automatic sliding doors that open via motion sensors. This removes a major point of contact for cross-contamination and medical equipment and staff can pass through without touching the door. Smooth, fast action of the doors is also important in emergencies for quick passage of gurneys and mobile medical units.
Accessibility was also at the heart of this project. Our low-energy automatic swing doors were fitted to various parts of the building, including main entrances, washrooms and patient areas amongst others. So Suzhou OUTUS felt that offering a network of smart automatic doors could serve as a data point within the building’s Internet of Things (IoT) structure. Entrance Sliding Doors: Centralized access control systems are connected to main-entrance sliding doors that restrict employee and visitor flow accurately, while biometric and card-based credentials ensure secure management. This info can also be leveraged to track real-time occupancy and traffic.
In addition, the doors are linked to the building management system (BMS). For example, the system may automatically configure some doors in a locked or limited condition, such as off-peak times, weekends, etc., to enable more efficient energy consumption and/or security. The smooth operation of these doors, which can interact with other building systems such as the elevator and climate control, has resulted in a real smart place to work.
